Toy safety is a big concern for all parents with young kids. There are tons of toys on the market that look like tons of fun for your baby but do everyone a favor and wait until your child is the appropriate age before you purchase them. Small parts and pieces can easily choke your little one and cause unnecessary trips to the hospital. So, how do you find toys that are appropriate? All toys should have an age limit posted on the exterior of the box of the toy but here are a few other guidelines.

I really need a Toy Box?
My
answer
is
absolutely! If you don't buy one for them at least buy one for
yourself! Toy boxes are a neccessity for any parent who has a child
with more than 10 toys. Nowadays you can find a toy box to match pretty
much any decor whether it be the nursery theme, toddler room theme or
even your living room so there really isn't an excuse any more.
There are a few things to look for in a toy box:

Ride on Toys are great
for teaching children adventure, independence
and motor skills. Try your best to follow the
age restrictions. A child that is two years old
does not need a ride on toy that is built for a
five year old or higher.
The restrictions are
there for your childs
safety. Most motorzied
ride on toys only go 2-3 miles per hour which
looks pretty fast on pavement so I have my son
ride his in the grass in backyard so he gets
comfortable with it before he gets to ride on
the "open road" known as the sidewalk.
There are also toys in
which your kids can pull up on and walk behind
when they are ready.
Once your baby reaches six month old you will start to see a huge difference. Most are able to sit up, make noises and they are ready to take on their new world.
Your job now is to stimulate them and get them excited about exploring and learning. You can do this with simple items in your home.
Kids love to make noise so take them into the kitchen and pull out the pots, pans and tupperware. You can give them a wooden spoon or measuring cup and they can use it as a drum stick to make lots of noise. They will get very excited at their new accomplishment. They also love paper towel rolls, paper cups and empty cereal boxes.
Play Patty Cake or sing songs and dance like Itsy Bitsy Spider.
My kids love blocks. I used to love stacking them up on top of each other and then knock them over. They would start laughing hysterically which made playing the game over and over fun for mommy as well.
Playing simple games will help your baby build motor skills and get their minds stimulated.
