Pack N Plays and Play Yards for Babies and Kids

When it comes time to decide on whether or not to register for or purchase a Pack N Play the answer is YES! This is a must for parents who still want to be able to visit a friends home for dinner or leave your kids with the grandparents overnight.

  • You can use it as a bassinet in your room until you are ready to transition your baby to their own crib in their nursery
  • You can put your child in the play yard while you are cooking, cleaning, or even working in the yard and know that they are safe
  • You can move it to any room you are working in while they nap so you can keep an eye on them
  • You can pack it up and take it to a friends home to use as a playpen or crib if the child falls asleep while you are enjoying dinner
  • You can take it to a family members home and they can use it as a crib while watching your kids overnight for you.
Things to look for in a Pack N Play or Play Yard
  • Canopy that can cover your child especially if taking it outside
  • A Detachable changing table- this is useful when the child is first staying in your room so you can change them in the night without having to take the child into the nursery
  • Baby bassinet sling-This is a sling that holds the mattress up closer to the top so it is easier for you to lay the child down without having to reach all the way to the bottom.
  • Some come with a detachable shelf that can hold diapers, wipes, lotion and more to help you in caring and cleaning your baby
  • Also, some come with a device that plays music, illuminates or vibrates the pack n play to help soothe your baby to sleep.

    Reminder

    Should You Buy a Co-Sleeper?
If you want to buy a co-sleeper ask yourself a few questions:
    • Are you going to breastfeed?
    • Are you going to want your kids sleeping in your room for a long period of time?
    • Are you concerned about rolling over onto your child?
Co-Sleepers and pack-n-plays are wonderful for breastfeeding mothers that have to get up during the night or very
early in the morning to nurse their baby. It saves the already exhausted mommy from having to walk into another
room, across the house, upstairs or simply just even across the room. The mother can easily reach the baby and pull
the child to her to nurse and then easily place the baby back in the co-sleeper so she too can get rest.

They are also great for first time mothers that are worried about every sound their child makes in the night. A
mother can easily sit up and see the child resting quietly or she can gently pat the childs back to ease them back to
    sleep.

Co-Sleepers and Pack N Plays are a safer choice than having kids directly in your bed with you. When your kids are in your bed you run the risk of rolling over onto  and crushing them, suffocating them if they roll over
into you or if a blanket or sheet accidentally covers their face and you also run the risk of them falling off a bed.
Another downside to have a child sleep in your bed is it will start a routine/habit you may not want and it will
put a damper on your intimacy and privacy your partner.

If your child is going to sleep in your room the first few weeks or months of its life then I definitely suggest
    investing in a co-sleeper or pack-n-play.
