6 Criteria For Choosing Baby Clothes

Author: Stuart Sherm

Article:
Walking into baby shops or clicking on line hunting for baby
clothes will reward the surfer with a plethora of items - so
many that one might get confused. The trick is to go beyond the
pink and blue to the commonsense of choosing baby clothes.

* The first thing is not to get influenced by sales talk - no
matter how sweet and convincing. To do so, one must know what
clothes the baby needs. The needs are dictated by two things,
the climate and the specific home environment of the child. That
latter in turn is linked with tradition. Tradition is not
something fixed - it is adaptable but it has its roots to the
surroundings and geography of the region.

* Economy too plays a great part. There is no point in going
beyond one's means and switch on cycles of frustration. Thus
baby clothes are determined by the climate, geography, tradition
and weight of the purse of the parents. These are ground
realities.

* With most of the mothers and even grandmothers working as hard
as the men folk there is little time to go round shops with a
shopping basket hunting for baby clothes. Here the Internet is a
great boon with a wide range available at the click of the
mouse. Baby clothes can be chosen and paid online. Goods are
delivered at the doorstep, often without any extra payment.

* There are embroidered baby dungarees, bay grow pants with
bright orange or purple polka dots, or stripes ranging from
green and yellow to chocolate brown and blue. Baby rompers and
safari suits with animal prints take the cake. There are hooded
tops tee shirts, sleeping and snug suits as well as many kinds
of baby shorts with fascinating names like Betty the Bunny,
Louis the Lion, Michael the Monkey, Otto the Owl and Perry the
Panda. Matching these in name and kind are tops. Then there are
surfing outfits, sleep suits, playsuits and body suits. Some
come in sets of three or six in a wide range of colours. Some
have short while others sport long sleeves. For cold days there
are ritzy hoods to give the feeling of comfort.

* Cotton is the most preferred material for baby. It is best to
go for organic material. The point to always bear in mind is
that babies grow - they are meant to grow. So there is no point
in buying a whole load of baby clothes at one point of time - no
matter how lovely and adorable they are.

* Another point about baby clothes is that for the infant it is
easier to have vests that tie at the back. This lessens the
chances of the baby getting snarled into dangerous knots. The
height of the vest should be preferably just below the navel so
that it does not easily get soiled. No matter how smart the
modern diapers are it is always advisable to allow the bottom
region of the infant to get plenty of fresh air and warmth.
Nothing can compensate for that.
