Bags Options for Parents
When you have children you it
will seem like you need a bag for every
occasion. Those bags include diaper bags, backpacks, “busy/fun” bags,
toiletry
bags, luggage and even back up bags in the car. As a new parent
you
can choose which type of bag suits the needs of your child but it is
always
best to prepared for the unexpected when it comes to parenthood.
Diaper Bags- Before your baby
is even born you should have a diaper bag
packed and ready for the
drive home
from the hospital after birth. This bag should include a few newborn
diapers,
wipes, hat, mittens, extra clothing, nail clippers, Neosporin for
circumcisions, burp cloth, bottle and travel formula unless you are
breastfeeding.
Toiletry
Bags- When
spending the
night at grandma’s or a friends you will need to have a toiletry bag of
some
kind filled with overnight necessities. Those necessities include
shampoo, any
medicine your child may be taking, nail clippers, diaper rash cream,
lotion,
band aids, Neosporin, hair brush, wash cloth and I even recommend
sunscreen
because you never know if they may need it and it is always good to get
into
the habit of carrying it with you and using it to protect your kids
skin.
Backpacks
or
“busy/fun bags”-
these kinds of bags come in handy when your children are a little bit
older and
need to be distracted. Items to include in this bag are snacks,
favorite toys,
lovie,
coloring books and crayons, building blocks, video games, an
etch-a-sketch or any other item that your kids enjoying playing with.
Luggage- It is so cute to see a little one
proud of its very own luggage and excited about their adventure to
grandma’s
house. If you choose to monogram I would strict to initials only to
deter
strangers from being able to call out your child’s name.
When packing their overnight bag
include
things like pajamas,
extra clothing, shoes, toiletry bag, favorite
movie,
favorite book, favorite toy, their lovie or blanket and of course lots
of extra
diapers and wipes.
A Back up Bag- I always have a
back up bag packed and ready in my car in case plans change at the last
minute.
It contains snacks, clothing, shoes, books, movies, toys, a blanket,
first aid
kit, diapers, wipes, an extra bottle and sippy cup and necessary
grooming tools
for on the go.
