Want to Have Your Babies Portrait Professionally Taken?

• What should they wear?
• Where should they be taken?
• Do I need props for the photos?

What should they wear?
Well, the better question is what should they NOT wear in the photos.  Try to stay away from heavy prints and patterns.  You don't want anything that will distract your eye away from looking at your littles ones facial expressions.  For little girls, try to stay away from large bows. They look pretty but usually that is the first thing you see when you look at your little ones  portrait.  Make the baby comfortable in their outfit and they will give you beautiful portraits in return.

Where should they be taken?
This depends on the age of the child. If very small and not sitting up yet usually the studio of the photographer will be suffice. Other places to take photos of children once they are sitting and standing would be the family home, botanical gardens, the town square or a playground.

Do I need props for the photos?
If the baby is uncomfortable at the shoot bring along their favorite blanket or lovie so they have some security but don't over do it because it will take the eye off of them in the portrait.

Should I invite family to the photo shoot?
If it is a family photo absolutely. Otherwise stick to one or both parents. Too many people will cause a distraction and make it difficult for the photographer to get the baby's attention.

How expensive will the photos be?
A good photographer is an expensive photographer. Think of the portaits as an investment in your child. They will only be that size and that age once so splurge on the memories that will last you a lifetime.
