One of my favorite bathtub items is the bath seat that attaches to the side of the tub. It is wonderful I used it for all of my daughter. With them in there, you really don't have to worry about them slipping under the water as much.
My other tip is make sure you have bath toys that don't hold water. Or if you do, make sure you clean them regularly with bleach and hot water. The toys do not always get a chance to dry out completely and the water that sits in them can get really nasty.
